Up for auction is an extremely rare Henley Union Jack gutta percha golf ball, made by the Henley Telegraph Works Company, Ltd, circa 1890s. This is a highly sought-after example of a very popular early patterned gutty golf ball, in excellent / nearly mint condition!! Several of these balls sold at auction at reputable golf memorabilia houses over the past year for $3,400 to $4,200, which were not is nearly as nice of shape as this example. Estimated value of a Union Jack in this condition may be as high as $5,500 to $6,000 at auction. I'm asking $4,200 for this ball, but as always, you're free to make me an offer. If you are a collector of rare antique sports memorabilia, and especially golf, this is a rare find you'll probably like to have in your display! If anything, it's a nice way to invest in what should only go up in price over the coming years. Feel free to Google these several auction sites for these past golf ball auctions: https://jeffellisgolfauctions.com/bids/bidplace?itemid=2729 https://jeffellisgolfauctions.com/bids/bidplace?itemid=2434 As you can see..... my example exceeds the condition of these 2 that sold for about the same price.
